Surf themed Adult Birthday Party

This event was held at Downtown Brew and was designed for 75-100
guests.  The concert/bar area of the club was transformed to suggest an
old beach shack that the guest of honor had spent lots of time at.  Some
main themes were repeated throughout the room to tie the various areas
together and still allow for separate activities.
We used a few large
pieces found at a local
thrift shop and several
items like surf boards,
wet suits, swim suits
and towels that the
client had on hand.  We
also purchased a large
set piece and lots of
coordinating materials
to tie the room together.
A selection of hawaiian print shirts found at a local thrift shop turned the
plain bar tables into something special.
Some elements like
grass skirts and leis
were used at the
entrance of the room
to set the mood and
theme and then
repeated as the guest
moved through the
party.
A roll of printed plastic sheeting added color to the room and helped to tie
two separate areas together.
By using items that the
client already owned we
were able to disguise
some problems areas
and tie them into the
theme without adding to
the budget.
